This guide is meant for those upgrading from SSD5 to 5.5.
Note: New users (those who purchased SSD after the release of 5.5) should refer to this link: For New Users
Those who previously installed SSD5 should note that the installation process for SSD 5.5 is a lot simpler than that for SSD5, and has been streamlined down to fewer steps.
Changes:
New Slate Audio Center application is the only file needed to install SSD, as this app installs both the SSD library and plugin file.
New installation process does away with Slate Pack files, and SSD_Sampler file.
Once the Audio Center is open, users will log in with the credentials to their slate accounts, and will see every product that they have registered to their account, including expansions.
Upgrade Steps:
Log into your Slate User Account, then click on "SSD5". Download the new Slate Audio Center.
Once downloaded, follow the prompts on the Windows installer
Make sure you allow the Slate Audio Center access to Firewall.
Open Slate Audio Center. Then log in using the credentials for your Slate User account (The one that you previously registered SSD5 to).
With the "SSD 5.5" button selected click "REINSTALL" next to "Steven Slate Drums 5.5 Sampler Beta". This will install the SSD5.5 Plugin file, and update the SSD library, giving users the newly re-released OG One-Shots, and updated grooves library.
On the next page there will be three prompts that can be checked, by clicking the circle. Those using Pro Tools need to make sure that the AAX prompt is checked, and users of other DAW's will need to make sure the VST prompt is checked. Otherwise the plugin will not install. Then check the prompt for "Destination for SSD5 Library folder" and hit the "Select" button, to select the destination for your SSD5 Library folder.
The destination will decide the location where your samples are installed.
Note: The samples can be installed on your internal hard drive or an external hard drive
Note: Do NOT select system folders such as Program Data or hidden folder. Note: Do NOT select a folder that is synced with a cloud backup library, as this will break the libraries consistency.
After selecting the destination for Library, hit install to start the installation process. When the process is done, you will get the message "Successfully installed". Then hit "Back to products".
