1. Initiate an instance of SSD5 in Digital Performer. Go to Project → Add Track → Instrument Track → Steven Slate → SSDSampler5.
Then, open the SSD5 plug-in window and (once you have loaded a kit preset) go to the "Mix" tab in the plugin. Set the output for your tracks in SSD5 to the appropriate track in the SSD5 Mixer.
- In this example, all Kick samples will be routed to "out 2 st", the snare will be routed to "out 3 st", etc.
2. Close your SSD5 window. Then in Digital Performer, go to Project → Create Tracks. Where it says "Track type" in the pop-up menu, select "Aux Track". Then set the quantity to match the number of different outs you set up in the SSD5 mixer.
Hit "OK" and this will close the pop-up menu and create new aux tracks in your session. Go to the input for your aux track and click on it to bring up the Inputs menu for that track. Then go to "new stereo bundle" and select the SSD Sampler Out, selecting a different number out for each aux track.
"SSDSampler5 - 1 #2" in the Inputs will correspond to "Out 2 ST" in the SSD5 mixer, "SSDSampler5 - 1 #3" will go to "Out 3 ST", and etc.
Make sure to also set the output of each of your aux tracks to your main Stereo Out in DP.
For ease of organization, users can also rename their aux tracks to reflect the multi-out routing.
Bottom of this article contains a Template with some routing as well.
